Luckman Fine Arts Complex, 5151 State University Drive, Los Angeles
In celebration of the 75th anniversary of the founding of California State University Los Angeles, renowned composer and professor of Music Composition, Dr. John M. Kennedy will premiere his multi-cultural piece about Los Angeles, "Sidewalks". Scott Detweiler's lyric, commissioned for this piece, is part of the text. The ensemble members are: Satik Andriassian - guitar, Natalie Buickians-soprano, Linda Rose Hembreiker-harp, Scott Worthington-double bass, Daniel Richardson - saxophones, John Lanier & Spurgeon Rice - media, Diego Lara, Marlon Martinez and Yuri Inoo - percussion, William Roper - horns & spoken word, Bus Stop Prophet - spoken word, Amy Beltran - voice and J. Emiliio Flores - digital art. Text by Kennedy and Detweiler. (Kennedy & Detweiler have previously worked together with the Chamber Players of Los Angeles). Detweiler will attend this spectacular world-premiere event. There will also be premier performances of works by Jack T. Cooper, Paul De Castro and Sara Carina Graef.
